Lobster Shack Tasmania is a waterfront café in Bicheno on the East Coast of Tasmania with premium seafood and casual, friendly service.
We are walk-in only and have freshly caught, live southern rock lobsters that are cooked daily. We are open 7 days per week from 11am to 7pm.
Our seafood is complemented with Tassie wine, local cider, beer and soft drinks, Van Diemens Land ice creams, Allpress Espresso coffee and more.
We also offer take-home platters and fresh seafood to cook at home.

Boasting arguably the best dining location in Tasmania, Lobster Shack Tasmania is a boutique, farmgate style eatery overlooking the majestic ‘Gulch’ in Bicheno, where Southern Rock Lobster really is the hero!
Born into the Tasmanian seafood industry, owners Sara and Marcus were destined to create a unique culinary experience. Winner of the 2019 Best Seafood Restaurant Experience at the Tasmanian Seafood Industry Council Awards, the Lobster Shack provides a truly authentic ‘ocean-to-plate’ experience.
Marcus launches his boat just metres from the front door, providing patrons with delicious Tasmanian seafood so fresh you can smell and taste the sea salt! While the panoramic deck provides spectacular views over the pristine waters of the picturesque boat harbour, the upstairs maritime museum offers a visual narrative of Tasmania’s historic commercial fishing industry and details how Bicheno has expanded into the thriving fishing port it is today.
And if you want to cook something yourself – we’ve got you covered!
A range of fresh seafood products is available for purchase from the display cabinet, while a live fish tank allows customers to choose their own fresh Tasmanian Rock Lobsters. It doesn’t get fresher or better than this!
